Specialized Tourism DevelopmentDepartment
The Department aims to develop special interest product lines to diversify Mexico’s tourism potential, in order to contribute and increase numbers of Mexican and foreign tourists as part of the Sector-Based Tourism Program 2007 – 2012.
Each destination or area is unique. The Department is therefore taking specific measures to create a favorable environment for tourist developments in each place, to identify and make the most of their competitive advantages, to define a long-term vision and strategy, and to create a portfolio of tourism business ventures in line with the skills and potential available at each location.
Action points include:
1. Technology transfer for the competitiveness and development of tourism products, with theoretical-conceptual studies carried out and edited, fora and specialized conferences.
